Reshma Shetty is a British-American actress and singer best known for her breakthrough role as Divya Katdare on the USA Network series “Royal Pains” (2009–2016), where she depicted one of television’s first female South Asian leads. Born on November 2, 1977, in Manchester, England, to Indian parents, Shetty began her career as a vocalist, earning a BM in Opera Performance from James Madison University and a Master of Music from the University of Kentucky, followed by an artist diploma from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. After excelling in opera and winning several major vocal competitions, she transitioned to musical theater and secured a starring role as Priya in the national tour of “Bombay Dreams” in 2006. Her television career flourished with substantial roles not only in “Royal Pains” but also in series such as “Pure Genius,” “30 Rock,” “CSI: Miami,” and “Blindspot,” along with voice work as Queen Angella in “She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.” She has also appeared in films such as “Steam,” “Delivering the Goods,” and “Allegiance.” Outside of acting, Shetty has represented brands like Dove in India and the Cindy Crawford “Meaningful Beauty” skincare line.
